Wisdom Wednesday: Virtual Conference - think home, PJ's, coffee or wine

Editor's note: Today's post was written by Sandra Gardner-Benward

I am excited and looking forward to this weekend. I am participating in something new this weekend........ well, it is new to me. Virtual Conferences of all kinds have been around for many years but I don't know that many of us take advantage of the opportunity to stay home or be anywhere and learn about things you want to hear about. I have participated in live streaming sessions, and of course webinar's and video's, but this Virtual Conference is an interesting concept and certainly a lot cheaper to attend than getting in your car or on an airplane, checking into a hotel for a week, eating out for three meals a day and sleeping or trying to sleep in a strange bed. The one thing I would miss is the people..........  all the other attendees that I would never get to meet, never get to talk to others of a like mind, exchange ideas and share experiences........  other than that, home is good.

SO here are the details .........  maybe you might want to come along on this adventure, there is still time to register and participate.

So see you online........  I will let you know what it is like if you don't make it this time.

EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA

There is also a  German Research Virtual Family History Expo Sept 21-25, 2015 Monday -Friday ....$69 registration ...... morning classes and evening classes. These are live presentations - just like you were in the room - so you watch each at the time scheduled. Since I am always trying to research my DIETZ side I would love to take this but I do not have Monday or Friday mornings available. Not sure what to do...........

"It does say that all classes are offered using GoToMeeting and will be recorded. You have the option to purchase a copy of the video and printed research guide that will ship after the event. A PDF copy of the Research Guide will be available for download a few days before the virtual Expo begins. Be sure to download it before the event begins and check in early to make sure your connection is working".
