These are the two items I think you will be interested in reading about.........
FamilyTree Maker Software has been acquired by Software MacKiev. They have been the developer of the Mac version for six years and now will support both the Mac and PC versions.
"This new agreement means you will receive software updates and new versions from Software MacKiev, and have the ability to purchase new versions of Family Tree Maker from Software MacKiec as they are released. You will have continued access to Ancestry Hints, Ancestry searches, and be able to save your tree on Ancestry with Family Tree Maker moving forward"

[Wow! does this mean that FTM users will be able to continue with their FamilyTreeMaker software including syncing? YES, I think so. ....... awesome!!!]
.........and second item of interest is............
......Ancestry has made an agreement with RootsMagic, a leading genealogy desktop software program, to connect Ancestry with the RootsMagic software by the end of 2016. They will also have access to Ancestry hints, Ancestry searches, and the ability to save your tree on Ancestry.
[Does this mean that RootsMagic will have the same benefits as FTM which will include syncing? Yes, I think so. Outstanding!!]
